Ebook About Alec: I shared my deepest secret with Lumen, hoping things will be better between us. But I can’t catch a break. My life blows up again when my daughter goes missing. Lumen: To say all hell broke loose is an understatement. When Alec’s daughter went missing, so did Soleil, the girl I mentor in foster care. It stung when Alec said finding his daughter is more important than some random runaway. But that’s just one more person telling me I don’t matter. With people they love in danger, Lumen and Alec must decide where their loyalties lie and hope for a future together.Don’t miss Mending Fate, the final book in The Scottish Billionaire, M. S. Parker’s latest romance series.Book Mending Fate (The Scottish Billionaires Book 3) Review :
I got attached to the characters quickly and wanted to know more about them, thus continuing to read on and on. However the dialogue between the characters were very short lived. There was more description than dialogue. Alec is described as very wealthy, a business man, and very smart but he wasnt smart enough to find out other ways to track down his daughter.. surely track his daughters phone or kellis.. not an expert though. This whole series was based on bad communication and very very stubborn characters, this would of been corrected with more dialogue. I wouldnt say the story was a waste of money i bought them all because i wanted to know what would happen and hoping the correction of more dialogue wouldve been improved. Communication is key. To be honest i even skipped over some parts cause it was just too bland, reading about the characters feelings then actually them conversing with each other I kept sticking with the first 3 books thinking it would improve because I did like Lumen. Sadly, Alec became more unlikable as the story progressed. It was sad that Lumen never had a family and ultimately ended up with such a self absorbed partner. He was a crap dad for a long time and his whole family kept telling him he was so great, he really used childhood trauma as a crutch for being a jerk and no one called him on it. It would have been so much better if Lumens character had developed into a stronger women that valued herself and stood her ground. Her internal monologue she would act like she's tough but her actions were always that of a doormat. Plot really devolved getting so dark with the trauma of the foster child. It was unnecessary to add gang rape by police officers as a drama point and then gloss over it like the child was perfectly fine shortly after. That was disingenuous and a disservice to the lifelong impacts of surviving being raped and beaten. Don't forget the seriousness of school shootings, suicide attempt, and sexual harassment at work thrown in for a couple of chapters and then forgotten about. I could go on but I'm left wondering if I read the same books as all the 5 star reviews????
