This is what I learned reading a second installment of ridiculous, over the top, overreact to every little thing that happens in your life: it’s too much. The kids in this book are laughably unimportant. Basically window dressing on a perfect family life. Ironic. The guys blow their overprotective chunks over everyone no matter the provocation. Shelby is… yeah, the most insecure but also the most beautiful and sexy and… rich… so, yeah, this book is the most everything and I was ok for one installment but two was too much for me. If you loved the first book more than you rolled your eyes, you’ll probably love this one too. If you had a bit of a toothache and/or acid reflux after the first, you’ll rot your teeth out with this one. I’m not sure why there needed to be a sequel but I still read it on the off chance something new or better would be included. I was wrong, this reads like one huge epilogue of an HEA. Shelby is still her doubtful pages long inner dialogue self and nothing new is really introduced. Of course, the whole silly fashion line plot is continued and Shelby is somehow deemed to have a natural gift for modeling and thanks to the professional photographer Chris hired, she’s now on her way to fashion week. It’s truly unbelievable that an ex-marine, even a billionaire one could possibly have learned to create and stitch high end gowns in such a short amount of time from being out of the marines. Chris is perfect at everything. He can design homes, he can create couture and the list goes on and on. I found myself rolling my eyes at how cheesy some of the scenes were, even the steamy scenes were lukewarm at best. I did like the guys very much, they were all well written just wish the same effort was given to Shelby. She comes off as such a weak Debbie downer through both books.
